										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Applications have been opened for a workshop From script to camera led by Spanish film director Pilar Palomero.</p>
<p>Pilar will hold a workshop from 24 to 27 June in the Cine Club Split. During the four-day workshop, participants will learn what they can do for their project in the preparatory phase. Practical part of the workshop will cover the following thematic units: Idea and script, Casting and location scouting, Visual approach – camera and light, creative dossier, presentation and analysis projects.</p>
<p>Attendees will be encouraged to come up with an idea for their film. All types of films are welcome (documentary, feature, film-essay, film as a diary entry etc.). The focus of the workshop is on the realization of films made in independent productions.</p>
<p>During the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to prepare their project from idea (script) to filming, analyzing and understanding the different stages of the creative process in the making of films. The workshop will be held in English. As part of the workshop, Pilar will present her debut feature film Las Ninas, and the presentation will be open to the public.</p>
<p>Registration fee: 200kn (100kn for members). The workshop is limited to 8 participants. In case of increased interest, the workshop leader will make a selection based on additional documentation (CV, motivation letter). Candidates with their own projects will have an additional advantage.</p>

<p><strong>Pilar Palomero</strong> – Born in Zaragoza, Pilar graduated in Hispanic Philology at the Zaragoza University in 2003. In 2006, she graduated in Cinematography at the Madrid Film School (ECAM).</p>
<p>In 2009, she directed ‘Niño Balcón’, a short film which enjoyed a long journey in both national and international festivals, winning more than 25 awards and more than 150 selections the Malaga Film Festival, the Huesca Film Festival, the Warsaw Film Festival, the San Luis International Film Festival or the Puchon International Film Festival were some of those events.</p>
<p>During this period, Pilar combined her film projects while working as a TV screenwriter and the co-writer of the feature film ‘Chaco’, by Bolivian director Diego Mondaca – which recently premiered at the 2020 Rotterdam Film Festival. She has also worked as a Screenplay and Photography teacher.</p>
<p>Her professional career took a great leap when she was selected by Hungarian director Béla Tarr as one of the 16 filmmakers to take part in his collaborative project Film Factory in Sarajevo (Bosnia-Herzegovina) in 2013. At the Film Factory, she had the opportunity to work and learn from some of the current film industry’s most important critics, director and theorists, such as Gus Van Sant, Carlos Reygadas, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Pedro Costa, Cristian Mungiu, Guy Maddin, Tilda Swinton, Juliette Binoche, Gael García Bernal, Jean-Michel Frodon, Rasha Salti, Thierry Garrel, Jonathan Rosenbaum and Jytte Jensen, among others.</p>
<p>During this period, she has written and directed the short films ‘Noć’ (2015) and ‘La Noche de Todas las Cosas’ (2016), the latter produced by Inicia Films and developed within the NISI MASA European Short Pitch’s framework – which took part, among others, at the Busan International Short Film Festival. She has also directed the featurette ‘Zimsko Sunce’ (2017), which earned a special BiH film jury mention at the Sarajevo Film Festival and premiered in Spain at the 2017 Alcala de Henares Film Festival and the Margenes Festival, as well as the creative documentary Horta (2017), which had its world premiered at the prestigious Doclisboa’17 and was selected at DocumentaMadrid, D’A Festival de Cine de Autor, Festival de Cine de Málaga and the London Contemporary Arts Intitute’s Frames of Representation.</p>
<p>In 2020 Pilar premiered her first feature film Las Niñas at the Malaga Film Festival, winning the Golden Biznaga for Best Film. After its passage through the festival, it reached commercial cinemas to great public and critical acclaim. Since its premiere, she has not stopped accumulating awards and recognitions, including 4 Goya Awards (Best Film, Best New Director, Best Original Screenplay and Best Cinematography) and the ASECAN Award (Film without Andalusian Production), making history by becoming the first director to win the award for Best New Director and Best Film for the same project. The film, produced by Inicia Films and Bteam Pictures, was also the big winner of the Feroz and Forqué Awards, as well as countless awards at different national film festivals and exhibitions.</p>
<p>Pilar is also part of the film collective BISTRIK7, and has participated in the Berlinale Talents in 2016 and 2021 and Sarajevo Talents 2016, as well as in the Residencies of the Academies of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences with which she is developing her next project, La Maternal. This feature film is currently in post-production.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Applications have been opened for a cinematography and directing workshop led by prominent German cinematographer and director <strong>Fred Kelemen</strong>. Workshop will be held in Split, Croatia in the premises of the Cine Club Split.</p>
<p>The workshop will be held in the afternoon and evening hours <strong>from April 11 to April 16</strong>, and the detailed schedule of the workshop and conditions will be agreed with the selected participants. The number of participants is limited, and the selection will be made by the mentor based on the application and motivation letter. <strong>You can apply via the <a href="https://forms.gle/aA3ngjmXsdr1RSFa6">online form</a> until April 5, 2022.</strong></p>
<p>Workshop participants will learn how to create impressive images and create atmosphere for different cinematic situations. During the workshop, intensive practical work is planned with the results that will be publicly presented.</p>
<p>For members of the Cine Club Split, the Croatian Film Association, Kinoklub Zagreb and the Platform of the Youth Center, the participation fee is 100 kn (proven by a certificate from the parent association). For everyone else, the participation fee is 200 kn. For participants of lower financial status, free participation is possible.</p>

<p><strong>Fred Kelemen</strong> was born in West Berlin/Germany. He studied painting, music, philosophy, religious science and drama studies and worked in various theatres as a director’s assistant before beginning his studies in directing and cinematography at the German Film &amp; TV Academy Berlin (dffb) from 1989 to 1994. He graduated from the dffb with a diploma as a director and as a cinematographer. For his diploma film “Fate” he received the German National Film Award in 1995. Since then, he has made a number of films and videos as director and collaborated as cinematographer with several film directors like Joseph Pitchhadze (“Sweets”, Israel 2012/13), Béla Tarr (“Journey to the Plain”, Hungary 1995, “The Man from London”, Hungary/France/Germany 2005-07, “The Turin Horse” 2009-11, “Muhamed”, 2017, “Missing People”, Austria 2019), Rudolf Thome (“The Visible and the Invisible”, Germany 2006), Gariné Torossian (“Stone, Time, Touch”, Canada/Armenia 2005) a.o.</p>
<p>In 2016/17 Fred Kelemen performed as an actor in the film “Suspiria” by Luca Guadagnino with Tilda Swinton, Ingrid Caven, Angela Winkler, Dakota Johnson, Mia Goth besides others. Since 1995 he has worked as an associate professor and has given master classes and lectures at the following institutions: Centre of Cinematographical Studies of Catalania (C.E.C.C.) in Barcelona/Spain, College of Fine Arts (ESBAG) in Geneva/Switzerland, Harvard University / USA, Kidderminster College / England, Latvian Cultural Academy (LKA) in Riga, University of Santiago de Chile – Department of the Arts and Sciences of Visual Medias, Thammasat University Bangkok/Thailand, German Film and TV Academy Berlin (dffb)/Germany, Tel Aviv University – Department of Film and Television/Israel, National School of Fine Arts (ENBA) Lyon/France, Film Factory Sarajevo/Bosnia-Hercegovina and at the HBK Saar in Saarbrücken, Germany.</p>
<p>Since 2000 he has directed several plays at different theatres in Germany. Retrospectives of his work have been presented at places like the Anthology Film Archives New York, the Tate Modern London, the Hungarian National Film Theatre Budapest and at cinematheques, film museums and film festivals worldwide. With his film production company Kino Kombat Filmmanufactur he produced his film “Krisana”/”Fallen” (co-producer: Laima Freimane/Screen Vision, Latvia, 2005) and he produced or co-produced the films “Moskatchka” by Annett Schütze (co-producer: Laima Freimane/Screen Vision, Latvia, 2005) and “Fragment” by Gyula Maár (producer: Béla Tarr/TTFilmmühely, Hungary, 2007) and “Roku Roka” (“Hand in Hand”) by Jana Marsik (co-producer: Laima Freimane/Screen Visison, Latvia – Jana Marsik Gemany 2008).</p>
<p>Fred Kelemen is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) /USA, the European Film Academy (EFA), the German Film Academy and of the European Cultural Parliament (ECP).</p>
