Phoenix Festival
18 June 2023 / 10 a.m. — 8:30 p.m. / Terrace Trokut
Split’s inaugural Phoenix Festival celebrates and promotes mental and physical well-being through a series of workshops and live musical performances held on the rooftop of Dom Mladih.
And the best part is that the entire program of Phoenix Festival has been created to support the work of Udruga Feniks Split, a local non-profit association for the promotion of mental health. Udruga Feniks runs several mental health support groups in Split as well as supporting vulnerable patients in the psychiatric unit at KBC Firule.
Entry to the festival and participation in the workshops is FREE and open to all visitors. Visitors and workshop participants are invited to DONATE towards the work of Udruga Feniks. The suggested donation is €5 – 10 per person.

Tai chi and qigong with Sonja Jukic
Qi gong is an integral part of Traditional Chinese medicine (medical and health aspect), but also includes martial, artistic and spiritual aspects. Gentle exercises connect our body, breathing, energy and mind into one integrated whole. The regular practise of Qi gong improves and develops our Qi (vital energy), which brings improvements in our posture and the way we move.
Tai chi is a highly developed system of harmonizing the external body with internal energy. Its external movements stretch and strengthen the muscles, tendons and ligaments while the unique spiraling and twining movements massage the body’s internal organs as well as circulate qi energy throughout the body. It combines power, grace and agility, and it is a mean of self-expression for many. One of the features that defines Taijiquan as an internal martial art is the search for stillness within movement, and movement within stillness.
14 – 15:00
Magic Mindfulness: Welcome to the here and now with Vanessa Ast
Vanessa is a life coach and wellbeing expert from Germany and lives in Trogir. She has been working with and for people for almost 25 years. Vanessa specializes in mindfulness-based personal development with all its methods, as well as energetic and spiritual healing.
At her workshop “Magic Mindfulness: welcome to the here and now.” (in English), participants will learn, among other things, why mindfulness and mindfulness training are intense pillars in consciousness and healing work and are the gamechanger for so many people worldwide for a reason. There is a zoom into the brain, its thought spirals and the explanation why we are rarely in the here and now, what stress this creates, what limiting beliefs as well as self-sabotaging behavior patterns are formed from it and what immense (negative) influence all this has on our lives. Vanessa will share tips and tricks for more mindfulness in everyday life, guide appropriate meditations and invite interaction. So look forward to a lively, joyful and at the same time relaxing workshop.
***We strongly recommend you reserve your place in advance via Eventbrite for these workshops so you don’t miss out, and don’t forget to bring a yoga mat or something to sit on and plenty of water!***
